Large Amounts Of Data.
Traditional online backup providers can only service the needs of customers with smalls amounts of data (although it's not mentioned or denied; customers find out the hard way). However, even small businesses these days are starting to produce a large amounts of files. Gartner estimates that the amount is doubling every year. In any case, recovery is not a big deal with a small amount of data as it doesn't take too long to download and get the client back up and running again. The problems start to amount when dealing with a larger amount of data. The first issue is how to get it to the service provider. It could take weeks to upload and the bandwidth cost could be substantial.
