Data Recovery Support
The loss of one or two files can easily be recovered through our software or secure customer portal however, there are times when a client requires the expedited recovery of all of their data and the time required to download it all may not cut it. We also have issues where a client is just too busy to deal with their data recovery themselves. We are here to help.
Always Plan For Total Loss.
Remember this. Take some time to identify what files are absolutely critical to the operation of your business before you experience any type of disaster. It may never happen but if it does you will be prepared. We recommend that our clients begin to recover those files immediately after the loss of data. From that point they can initiate whatever the best recovery option is for them. Fortress provides options to suit any amount of data with any recovery time objective. Clients can continue to download their files to a maximum of 5GB without additional bandwidth charges being applied or ask us to step in to help. Please consult our Support Rate Sheet for more information on recovery bandwidth charges. It could be more cost effective to have us do it for you in lieu of the costs associated with bandwidth. Of course, this depends on the amount of data being restored.
We Can Do It For You.
The standard recovery option that is included with all general accounts, for all clients is a Guaranteed 8 Business Hour Response Time to begin a recovery request. Fortress can provide a copy of a clients encrypted data on a medium suitable for the amount of data (DVD's, Blu-ray, External Drive and Removable NAS devices (NAS device support must be established prior to the need for it)) for personal delivery (if the client resides in South-Western Ontario) or courier to the client. It is important to note that the 8 hour response time is our guarantee to start the recovery request within 8 business hours. It is not a guarantee that the data will be ready for supply to the client by then. The amount of data has a direct influence on how quickly the data can be prepared for delivery. Clients are responsible for the cost of the media or device required to transport the data, the delivery charges and an hourly rate for the time required to prepare, deliver (if we are doing so personally), and recover the data (should the client wish us to recover it for them onsite). Other Options.
The majority of our customers are comfortable with our guaranteed 8 hour response time however, some clients require faster service. Fortress has 4 hour, 2 hour and immediate response time packages in addition to many options to decrease data preparation and delivery times. We even go so far as hosting client supplied NAS devices in our data center which allows an additional level of data replication for immediate delivery to the customer. The data preparation is already done in this case which would significantly decrease recovery time for our clients.
